Frequently asked questions
A full driving licence held for at least one year, a passport or government ID, and a credit or debit card in the main driver's name for the deposit. If your licence is not in English, bring an International Driving Permit. Our "Renting guide" page has the full checklist.
The minimum age is 21. Drivers aged 21 to 24 pay a young-driver fee of $15 per day, and luxury, sports cars, vans and motorcycles require a minimum age of 25.
The deposit depends on the vehicle class, usually $200 to $500, and is shown before you pay. It is held at pick-up and released within three working days of a clean return. Any deduction (fuel, damage, fines) is itemised and sent to you.
Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pick-up. After that, 20% of the booking amount is kept. You can change dates or cars for free up to 24 hours before, subject to availability. See the cancellation and refund policy for details.
Every rental includes liability insurance and collision damage cover with an excess, plus 24/7 roadside assistance. You can reduce the excess to zero with the Premium package, and add personal accident cover. See "Insurance and protection" for what is and is not covered.
Yes. Add the Additional Driver option when you book. The extra driver must come to pick-up with their licence and meet the same requirements. Only named drivers are insured, so please do not let anyone else drive.
Most rentals include 200 km per day. Extra kilometres cost $0.35 each. Weekly and monthly rentals can include a larger allowance; ask us if you plan a long trip.
Return the car with the same fuel or charge level as at pick-up. If it is lower we refuel at the pump price plus a small service fee. We record the level in the agreement and in the photos.
Yes. You can collect from any of our three branches and return to any other, for a small one-way fee shown at checkout. The airport desk is open 6 am to midnight daily.
Yes. Add a professional driver to any booking by the day. All our drivers are licensed, insured and knowledgeable about Miami and the surrounding area.
Driving to neighbouring states is allowed with our written permission. Please tell us your route when you book. Travel outside the United States is not allowed.
There is a 30-minute grace period. After that, each extra hour is charged at the rate in your agreement, up to a full extra day. If you know you will be late, call us: extending the rental is usually cheaper than a late fee.
Fines, tickets and tolls during your rental are your responsibility. We pass the notice on to you, and if we pay it first, we charge it to your card or deposit with a small administration fee. Ask for the toll device to avoid fines on cashless highways.
Move to a safe place, call 911 if anyone is hurt, and then call our 24/7 assistance number on your agreement. Do not arrange repairs yourself. We will tow the car and send a replacement. If the fault is not yours, you will not pay for it.
Yes. Child safety seats, GPS navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot are add-ons you can choose when you book. Child seats are required by law for young children, so we recommend reserving them in advance.
You can pay online by card, PayPal and other supported methods, or pay the balance at the branch by card, cash or bank transfer. Online payments are handled by our payment partners on their own secure pages; we never see your full card number.
